After decommitting from Kansas State, Kristina Paskauskas (UTR 10.34) has signed w/ @PackWTennis & will join the Wolfpack for fall of 2023. The 19-yo has a WTA singles ranking of #919, winning 1 ITF Pro Circuit $15K singles title & 2 in doubles. Also has won 3 ITF juniors titles.

Indicates to me that it's very likely that at least one of the 6 underclassmen won't be returning.

They had 9 on the roster last year, and are losing Smith and Miller to graduation and almost surely Shnaider.

They already have 3 incoming freshmen...now Paskauskas makes 4. Surely they aren't going to carry a roster of 10 for this upcoming year.

It does seem like a big squad. Scholarship limit is 8, and they had 9 on the roster last year. I don't know how that worked out, whether someone was a walk on or NLI deal or what.

My initial guess on the top 6 would have been:
Rajecki, Rencheli, Abrams, Dittman, Broadfoot (FR), Zampardo (FR).

But I think Paskauskas (FR) cracks the top 6 knocking one of them out.

And you have Zyryanova, Henderson, and Coe (FR) in reserve as well.

I don't know if you can keep 10 girls happy, but it seems like they are all either here working out in the summer or being promoted by coach on Twitter/instagram when they play in tournaments. Maybe all of them have the ultimate goal of successful professional tennis and they feel like working with this staff prepares them best for that even if they aren't regularly in team matches.

What we have right now is a top five level team, so selfishly I hope we can keep all the pieces in place.

NC State women's tennis has added Great Britain standout Kristina Paskauskas to its roster for the upcoming season, as announced by head coach Simon Earnshaw on Wednesday.

"Kristina is a player that coach Dave and I have been following for a good amount of time," Earnshaw said. "She first came on our radar last fall with several strong performances at ITF Pro Circuit events. Once I'd spoken with Kristina it was clear that her goals aligned very closely with those we have for our players and program

Paskauskas arrives from London, England, and comes to Raleigh after de-committing from Kansas State to join the Wolfpack for the 2023-24 season.

With a WTA singles ranking of #919, she already has an ITF Pro Circuit singles title to her name and two in doubles to go along with three ITF juniors' titles.

"She's an athletic player with an all-court game and the type of work ethic and character that is required to excel with the Wolfpack," Earnshaw said. "In the circumstances we are very fortunate to have Kristina joining the program and I think we share the same mentality in that we are excited to get to work in just a few weeks. Go Pack!"

A two-time national champion, this past June, Paskauskas reached the finals of the W15 Monastir.

"My goal is to become a professional tennis player," Paskauskas said. "I believe NC State will give me the best chance to achieve this. From speaking with Simon and David, I genuinely feel as if they care for their players and treat them all individually, which is something I've always looked for in coaches."
