The NC State rifle team finished day one of the Great American Rifle Conference Championships with a smallbore score of 2,325 on Saturday at West Virginia's WVU Shell Building.

The Wolfpack finished tied for fifth out of eight teams in Saturday's team smallbore event, placing above No. 15 Army (2,301) and No. 10 Memphis (2,318) and tying No. 9 Navy.

Ben Salas, who was named Honorable Mention GARC All-Smallbore on Friday, led the Pack with a score of 590 to qualify for the finals. In his first ever GARC finals, he finished fifth overall out of eight finalists.

Kendall Goebel ranked second among Pack shooters with a score of 582, while Katie Tedeschi rounded out the top-three with a score of 580. Kyra Meade (573) and Roman Karadsheh (565) finished out the scoring for the Pack.

No. 2 West Virginia clinched the team smallbore title with a score of 2,345 in its home venue.

Junior Ben Salas recorded a smallbore score of 585 on day one of the NCAA Rifle Championships on Friday in Akron.

Salas tied for 14th overall with his score of 585. He will compete in the second relay for air rifle on day two of the NCAA Championships on Saturday.

Alaska Fairbanks (2,349) leads after day one of the NCAA Championships, while fellow GARC members Ole Miss (2,346) and West Virginia (2,343) rank second and third.

Junior Ben Salas concluded the NCAA Rifle Championships with an air rifle score of 586 on Saturday in Akron.

Salas tied for 42nd overall with his tally of 586. Overall, he finished with an aggregate tally of 1,171 in his final 2022-23 outing representing the Wolfpack.

Alaska Fairbanks (4,729) took home the national championship with championship highs in smallbore (2,349) and air rifle (2,380).
