NC State women's golf concluded two days of competition at its Wolfpack Match Play event with a 3-2 win over 11th-ranked Florida State on Tuesday. After going 2-1 over its three rounds, NC State finished fifth in its home tournament and regular-season finale.

Wolfpack rookie Vania Simont was a perfect 3-0 in her matches over the week. She birdied her final hole against Florida State's Kaylah Williams to earn the win on 18. Isabel Amezcua closed out a one-hole victory of her own over Katherine Cook, and Caitlin Whitehead scored the team victory with her 2&1 decision over Alice Hodge after playing up the majority of the match.

On Monday afternoon, the Wolfpack bounced back from a narrow first-round loss to beat Louisville. Simont (8&7), Amezcua (5&4) and Lauren Olivares Leon (3&2) all got the job done with holes left to play, and Whitehead held on for a tie in her match against the Cardinals.

NC State dropped its first match by a 3-2 score to 21st-ranked Duke on Monday morning before going on to win its final two matchups of the tournament. In that quarterfinal match with the Blue Devils, Simont won three holes in a row on her back nine to jump in front on the way to a 2&1 win over Erica Shepard. Olivares Leon also won her first match of the weekend by going up on Andie Smith in her second-to-last hole of the round.

Natalie Armbruester rounded out the Pack's five-player rotation, and Inja Fric and Jaclyn Kenzel also each competed individually for the Wolfpack. The team's event served as a final home tournament before it hosts an NCAA Regional in early May.
