NC State redshirt senior wide receiver Jumichael Ramos continues to work his way back from an injury that cost him all of the 2016 season.

*****

What was it like during your absence due to injury?
It was a long journey, but I was able to get through it. I was working and trying to figure out what would be best for me to try and come in off of injury and a year and half from practicing, things like that.

[I was] just trying to be smart.

My journey it has been long, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I have been working hard so being in team camp with all of those guys...I am feeling good and feeling great, and I am ready to finish camp and the rest of the season.

How great did it feel to get back on the field with your teammates?
It was one of those moments I will remember my whole life. I didn’t know that it meant so much to me. I knew I wanted to get back but I didn’t know how much it meant to me.

Being able to run my first one-on-one route, being able to catch the ball and actually being able to be a part of the team, after that I got really emotional and that just shows the passion that I have to get back in and playing with the guys, working with the team, being able to help out and being able to grind.

It is about the process. The process is the key. The process really got me to the point I am at.

I thank the man above, and I thank my coaches and everybody on the training staff, everybody that worked with me.

Has this been one of the deepest receiving group you have seen at NC State?
Yes it has. Those two guys [Stephen Louis and Kelvin Harmon], with them coming back, it is basically on us. We have a great receiving group, one of the best in the ACC.

We have to help make the big plays to be one of the best receiving groups in the nation.

How much of a motivating factor is the close games from last season?
It is a very motivating factor.

We always look at the situation and the football things and the ledger that we need to fix this year, we are just right now taking it day-by-day, step-by-step.   We're making sure we don’t make the same mistakes to put ourselves in a better position fast -- starting off fast in the game -- and be able to end with us winning.
