I'm gonna offend everyone and say Mark Turgeon
If he brings Scott Spinelli with him I could be talked into it but if the Maryland fans bothered him....not sure NC State is the place for him. haha

Idk man, I worked with Maryland fans the last 5 years in DC and they're some asses lol. I'd be down for some Spinelli and Manning action.
I honestly wouldn't hate that staff. Get a 3rd assistant that's killer in the DMV to round it out.

None of the coaches listed above seem better than sticking with the plan. Changing business models costs a ton of money. I think Keats can figure it out. If after next year he shows no progress, then move on. Moving on after this years seems a little premature.

Unless state actually wants to fork over real money for a real coach. @Nyrhan, growing a business is a coaching job. Literally the same concepts. Also, tell me how many teams lost 4 if men this year and are winning? How many teams are winning with 1 senior? Also, you forgot the NCAA investigation which may have been why Keats had to take chances on those two misses that never showed up. Also, DD was very much on the hot seat in 2020. Stay the course or hire a major coach who has already figured it out. Unfortunately, those guys ain't coming to state unless you back up multiple dump trucks of cash to their driveway.
Are you using talk to text?

"Basketball Recruiting and Transfers" Can't we start another thread titled 'Fantasy Coaching Roundtable" or something where those who wish to discuss that can choose to go there. I come to this thread for recruiting info.

Any more word on Judah Mintz? Any possibility Dillingham re-classifies? What do we think of Phillips now that he is basically top 50?

Mintz just took an OV to depaul, I still scheduled to visit us, wake and Cuse. Will likley decide in April, if I had to guess now it would be Wake.

Dillingham, I've read and been told by multiple people that him reclassing isn't even being discussed.

Phillip will be a good long term player, may even be really really good by his sophomore year. But never our expectation of freshmen Big men, it takes a while for them to get acclimated and I expect Manny to be back.

Why do u expect Manny back? Off of what u heard or it just makes sense. I've seen some posters usually in the know say he's not coming back.

Well, during the PItt game the announcers said they had spoken with him and he said he was looking forward to coming back strong next year.

The staff needs an all out push to re-recruit Bates, T. Smith, and Seabron. Prayerfully, on top of that, Gantt and Ross are healthy. This would be a good foundation to build from. Then go get a top-notch point guard to come in from somewhere and I think we will be pretty good.

If Keats replaced 1-2 assistants, and brought back Manny, Seabron, Smith and Morsell I'd be more than willing to give him another year.

If we bring in another of, Hayes is certainly gone. But we could really use a Markell (not even saying someone as good as Markell, just a distributor)

7 kids in the top 80 for 2024 from NC (247 released rankings today). Including 3 in the top 25. Jackson Vick's little brother Jordan comes in at 80.

Paul McNeil - I bet he ends up leaving his public school. Isn't that all the rage these days?
Jarin Stevenson - unc legacy. Mom played at unc, dad at Richmond. Coached by both parents. I'm from Chatham county so this new school is crazy to me. Northwood would've been so good this year with both Stevenson and Powell.
Isaiah Evans - Is Duane Lewis still the coach at North Meck? Huge State fan, IIRC
Jahseem Felton - Raymond Felton's cousin...
Drake Powell - another unc legacy. Dad played baseball at unc, and I want to say he's related to Hubert/Walter Davis as well. ugh. GREAT family though. His brother plays at Louisburg and he has a sister that plays volleyball at Va Tech, IIRC. We've offered Drake.
Sir Mohammed - Nazr's kid. This kid plays down the road from my house at Myers Park. He's good.
Jordan Vick - like nryan said, Jackson's brother.

Some good young talent in the state. unc can't take them all. haha (or maybe they can yikes)

Apparently the staff went to Pittsboro to check out Stephenson at Seaforth and Powell from Northwood showed out! Strange that there is that much talent right there in Chatham County!!

Former Pitt commit Judah Mintz enjoyed his official visit to N.C. State and has two more planned.
"It went really well," his father Camara told ZAGSBLOG of the visit late this week. "They want him to play major minutes as a freshman. The vision is for him to be part of a 3 guard lineup with two really good guards that are already in the program, Terquavion Smith and Casey Morsell."

Looks like keatts message says nothing about Seabron or Hayes

Not to alarm anybody, but T is starting to gain some traction in NBA Draft circles; if he returns -- which is still likely at this point -- it will be because scouts want to see him improve when it comes to creating for others. With that said, I would expect to see T on the ball a lot next year as the de facto point guard. I imagine Judah would also shoulder a lot of ball handling.

If we miss out on Judah, then I'd bet we go after a grad transfer point guard. We still might even if we land Judah, but I think T and Judah are so good that you want the ball in their hands.

It would be smart for KK to put Smith on the ball and get two or three legit wings who can shoot. Plus Bates or Phillips plus a transfer big. I like that plan. Smith is a creator at the NBA level.

Assuming Manny isn't back (I don't think he will be), a transfer big will be the biggest swing factor for next year. Phillips won't be quite there as a freshman, Ebe is more of a quality backup IMO, Ernie and Gantt aren't true 5s, and Gibson... well, yeah.

Where's Manny going? He has a history of shoulder issues and played 58 seconds this year. It's not like he was taken to the court in a terrible collision either. Did anything even graze his shoulder? He needs to prove he can stay healthy so unless he feels he's been mistreated by the staff, I can't see him going anywhere.

I think you're right, which means we're pinning our hopes to escape the bottom of the league next year, in part, on a player who may not be here or if he is has a history of injury.

Lots of buzz going on about a potential Dillingham reclass... sounds like he doesn't want to be at Donda for another year. He would have to take the Emoni Bates route and spend two years here

I really hope this happens. I fear that KK might not get to 2023 without some makor re-inforcements next season

Yea im still a believer in KK. Think if we show him the same patience we showed DD then we will get good results.

Jaylan Gainey from Brown is an obvious transfer candidate if Manny leaves. He averaged 8.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game this year and is going to repeat as Ivy Defensive Player of the Year. He's from Greensboro and I believe he has to transfer since he's graduating but has eligibility left (Ivy League rule)

Just watched some video of this dude. Wowwww he is exactly what Keatts wants. Shot blocker/rim runner/ferocious dunker. If Manny comes back I doubt we add another center, but this guy would probably be a good fit. Heck I wouldn't be totally shocked if Gibson and Ebe both left (if Manny comes back) so maybe he could be an option there anyway
