Jayden Epps receiving cbs to Illinois and will commit "sooner rather than later"
This cycle isn't going so hot for us
Nope but don't think we need him like we need wings and bigs. Never understood why we kept going after primary ball handlers with Hayes, smith, pass, and morsell
Keatts recruiting doesn't seem to have a philosophy. Moreso target a lot of kids and see who wants to play here, it seems.
I wouldn't categorize his tenure as that at all. He targets guys early and usually land at least 1 of those. It's never just a wait until March-may and grab any High school kid available. Cam Hayes, breon pass, and terquavion smith we're all offered years before their senior year and they still ended up hsre
Think he more means going after a lot of kids who could fit the system, but not necessarily make sense as far as need.
Example is taking Gibson, Ebe and Farrar in the same class. Or Cam and Shak, followed by Breon (when it was still assumed Shak would be here).
Then this year going hard after Epps when we needed more wings/ a big. I don't think he just offers anyone, I think he's really selective with his offers, and know that he will only offer a kid after he has seen them personally.
To add to the selectivity point, I honestly thought we'd have seen the bird expand this weekend, but I haven't seen any 2022 offers going out.
