First impression is shades of Josh Hall with size, skillset, and apparently late recruiting riser.

Will he give us 9 months?

Seems like alphonzo Phillips is excited about nc state. He has now posted a pic on his Instagram story at least 3 times over the last few days

Awesome! Really want this kid to join the pack! Long, athletic, and can shoot.

From what we saw from in the ncaa tournament long athletic wings excelled

Add him to Seabron, Gantt, and Ross. That is some length on the perimeter!

Watched this kid play earlier this week and he was special. I would say he's a 6'5-6 shooting guard. He's listed at 6'7 but that's an exaggeration as usual. He will be special, talking with some parents from his team he's already getting interest from huge schools like Kentucky and will likely take some unofficial visits soon

Kj keatts will likely be a preferred walkon for us

2022 NC stars

2022 Christian Reeves (Cannon)
Man, it is great to see Reeves back healthy and on the court again and it seems that he is ready to show why he is a rising talent in the country. The 7-footer was dominant all throughout the weekend, showcasing his touch and his ability to dominate down in the post. Reeves is such a unique big with his mobility, his timing, his touch, and is now showing more of his assertive side of his game. He is such a difference-maker for Cannon on both sides of the floor, and with his growing confidence, Cannon looks to be right back in the picture for a state title and his recruitment should continue to take off.

2022 NC Stars

2022 Ifeanyi Ufochukwu (Covenant Day)
Big man Iffy really made an impression on us with his play and should have made an impression with the college coaches. The 6'11 long big showcased his developing skill while still being a true presence defensively in the paint. Ufochukwu uses his wingspan really well in being a rim protector without fouling, while also being a big presence on the boards. Now, he is still a developing talent on the offensive end but you see the flashes and the potential in what he could be at the end. This is why it is intriguing to see why more schools aren't getting involved with his size and potential. He gave us a glimpse this weekend.

FWIW Deante green is now working out with team loaded. They're an adidas program as many of you know but more importantly former state DOBO Thomas carr is the coach and director of team loaded

eh, it's just like when nickelberry commented on Hayes' instagram when he commited to us and said "Why?" Not everyone is gonna end up liking keatts when all is said and done. Gotta move on and find kids who want to be here.

Don't know if we would have any shot at all, but he would be a GREAT fit with Manny!

Has NC ties in high school. Here's his bio at oral roberts. " Earned a composite two star ranking scored 21 points on a 9-13 shooting effort as a member of the Texas Pro AAU squad played at Mount Zion Christian Academy for Coach Stephen Baines also played football and was a cross country runner also recruited by Wake Forest, TCU, N.C. State and Arkansas among others."

Illinois' lands a top 100 combo guard that's more of a shooting guard. Might help with us getting Epps since Illinois has been making a good push for epps

I'm more concerned with KU.

On another note, does anyone else feel like we should be off to a better start for this class? I mean we had our 2021 class locked up in September, so I assumed we would've been in a better spot with a lot of guys.

I feel like last year was more of an exception than the norm. Baby T has been committed to us for like 10 years and Ross committed uncharacteristically early.

I agree with that, what i mean is because we were done MSI early we had a lot more time to focus on recruiting 2022 kids. But that seems like it didn't get us anywhere.

I think it's probably an exaggeration to say "it didn't get us anywhere," but I get your point and agree with your sentiment. We are after some good options, but it doesn't seem we feel overly confident about landing any of them. At least, that's the impression I get.

I mean the kids that we focused on were Epps, Rice, Phillips, Tyler Nicholas and Green.

Rice is almost a non option; Nickel likley to UNC.

Phillips; Green and Epps have all visited.

But there are reports Green is looking at wake just as much as us.

Latest report is Epps May be leaning KU

And everyone has constantly said it'll be hard to pull Phillips out of the Midwest.

So I just don't see where it gave us any benefit lol.

Yea I feel you. I would also like to add that if Wake is able to get Green, after we have been on him from the very beginning, and with him being close with some of our current guys, I would consider that a pretty bad look.

It's a definite exaggeration... We are in "it" for a ton of good players for '22. Can't see us striking out on all of them either. I actually like where we are with what we can control... Keatts finally seems to be building rather than chasing.

I named the guys we're in it for that we've been on for an extended period of time, getting done early hasn't helped us get in any better of a position that we would've been with them otherwise. Don't think saying that is a remote exaggeration.

The other guys we're in good for: Essandako, Thomas, Watson, Billups are all guys who we've kept tabs on but haven't offered or heavily pursued until recently. So I don't see how you can say it is a definite exaggeration that I'm saying getting an early start didn't really help us much with guys. Especially when a lot of guys we're in good with are guys we've just started reaching out to.

ETA: I'm not trying to argue with anyone, and not trying to diss Keatts with this. I'm just genuinely curious.
