as much as i wanted jayden (trust me, i really REALLY wanted him), he was always kind of a weird basketball fit here. cole and manny are basically locked in as starters, and it would be kind of difficult for gardner to coexist with them in keatts' system as a non-shooter without accepting a sixth man role, which he's too good for. obviously we would make room for that kind of talent but he's definitely a better fit at uva next year

6-9 Juco. Not sure if State has a shot. It looks like his dad played at Cardinal Gibbons in Raleigh, before playing at Villanova. Maryland may have a shot. Wilson is a Philly kid, and Maryland has a few kids from Philly.

Mathis entered the portal a month ago .

Disclaimer that should be pinned to the top during portal season :

N.C. State will make basic contact and show limited interest to 30+ portal players . Out of those 30 they will probably only offer and truly go after 4-5 of them . Please understand this when you see news reports of N.C. State interest in a transfer .

Smith:94 (went from not in to 94)
Also pass went from 3 star to 4 star with a rating bump from 77 to 81. For reference smith has an 82 rating so pass is close to top 100

Agreed but with every recruit moving up it should make us feel a little better. Especially once 247 updates the composite. Pass is gonna have a huge jump in that, ESPN had pass as the 53 best pg and with today's update he's now the 27th best pg

I would take ESPN rankings with a grain of salt anyway. AJ Griffin is at worst a top five player in this class and Biancardi has him at 27

We added size. Keatts likes 4 guard line ups, remember when we won a lot of games with cj bryce/Torin dorn starting at the 4?
