All, I thought I'd make a thread in the Water Cooler so fellow NC State fans and watch enthusiasts can discuss their watch collection or watches you might have your eye on.

Also, if you have a watch you would like to sell and/or trade, please post here.

What's your favorite watch that you own? Do you have a watch that you're looking to buy this year?

Right now, my favorite watch is my Sinn 556A on a black leather strap. I prefer the look of a German watch for the most part.

Sinn 556A. Pilot watch that is very versatile.

Following. I've never been a big watch person but I do like my Citizen that I've had almost 15 years or so.

I have 2 Citizen watches gifted to me by my wife. Citizen is a behemoth of a company and their high-end watches are amazing, some of the most accurate watches in the world.

Didn't know that. It is a nice one that I will bring out from time to time. I also have a watch my wife's family got me about 20 years ago. Has the block S on it and the thing still works great. Not sure of the brand off the top of my head.

I have a Raymond Weil that I love, but its unfortunately in the shop right now.

Didnt realize how much I look at it until it was off my wrist

Raymond Weil make some amazing dials and dress watches. Post a pic when you get it back on your wrist. Was your local shop able to take care of it or did you have to mail it off?

Local shop (Precision Quartz right off Glenwood) but he shipped it off to a subcontractor in Rhode Island as his local guy apparently retired. There used to be an authorized dealer at Southpoint a long time ago, but they are long gone.

I used to be big into mechanical watches. I only have four of my more expensive ones left. I do have a number of Seiko watches sitting in boxes. I need for them to have a new home. Yesterday, I was wearing my most worn watch. It's the Tudor Pellagos…

That looks great. How long have you had it? Any reason for the Pelagos over the BB?

You could post the Seikos on here, see if there are any biters?

Love that look.

Any interesting blue dials under 1k. Like Tissot 1853 so far.

At the time (maybe 10+ years ago), when the blue Pellagos came out, I didn't like it at all, in advertising images. My family were visiting parts of Europe. While we were in Milan, I went into a jewelry store that sold Rolex and saw this one in the case. At first look I was blown away by it. I was looking for a specific Rolex to buy and came home with this one.

Regarding the BB, I do like it; however, it was an impulse buy based on my initial impression. BTW, I've owned a bunch of watches and sold everything except the Rolex Milgaus (black face with Green Sapphire), Omega Speedmaster MK2, and Zenith Chronomaster Sport. As I said, I do have a few Seiko watches that some have never been worn more than once.

The Seiko watches are the more expensive ones that cost in the $500-$1,000 new range.

I have a blue dial Seiko sport watch that is beautiful. I'll have to pull it out as it's boxed.

What do you imagine you'll be doing with this watch? Work attire? Casual? Dress?

On my wrist today. Mido Multiform Patrimony. As my kids say, it's my "Doctor's Watch" as it has a pulsometer on the side which makes measuring a HR a little easier (though unnecessary).

I don't need a Tudor, but someday, I'll probably own a Black Bay. It's a great versatile dive watch.

I love that green trim. really pops. Were you asking for a <$1k blue dial watch? What was the occasion you were asking for it? work/casual/dress/sport?

I don't usually think about occasion but go more on looks. For the blue dial, I would say more casual everyday. I only own one watch but looking to expand.

My first thoughts would be a Tissot Gentleman or Longines Conquest (used or older model to get you less than $1k)

If you want to be more sporty/casual, there are a number of Seiko blue dials for that price range. Like the Seiko Alpinist. The Seiko Presage lines are more dressy, but are versatile. Then, there's a number of Seiko dive watches with blue dials in that price range.

Certina and Mido both have dive watches that are really good at that $1000 price range, too. The Certina DS Action Diver or the Mido ocean star 200.

Great choices. Looked at a few from Baileys today. A little cheaper.
