I went looking for the old thread, must have gone back at least 12 pages and still couldn't find it, so apologies for establishing a new one. Anyway, wanted to post this, looks like the industry is on hard times….good news (price drops)/bad news (favorites going out of business)?

Saw that article today, crazy, cause I remember during COVID, ( not being political ) heath experts were worried about how much more folks were drinking. On a side note, I work with some younger folks, right out of school, and none of them drink. Not even when we are out of town and meeting up for happy hour.

Now, I'm having some Buffalo tonight, cheers.

I actually have been buying more Savage Rye lately but I for sure don't tell the spouse how much bread I'm out laying for it. Hope the collective really is benefiting from its sales. Still like Makers better though.

It got moved because Smarpty was railing on "those that post on the Water Cooler" (even though he now posts there more than anybody else except for were) on the sports boards (which he tried to incite a rebellion there at least 2-3 times now in various threads) and for no apparent reason Glass thought both the bourbon and NASCAR thread would get more traction if removed from that board and moved to this board...

Not sure that I agree with the premise behind it, but that's more or less what happened.

Yeah I have no clue why it moved, I was looking for it a few weeks ago.

Ha!

At least you can get it where you live... we will never see it down here on the coast apparently. We can get Savage Wolves Vodka shipped to our residences perfectly fine in NC, but we can't get Savage Rye shipped like that (apparently Social House somehow ships their direct to consumer sales out of Florida someone has previously posted, and that's how they get around it).

Maker's and Gentleman Jack are my go to. I do however enjoy some Savage Vodka on a hot day.

It was moved because the decision was made to stop moderating this board, so Glass moved some of the non political threads to Light It Red.

I don't know product distribution schemes but I just assumed all Triangle ABCs at least would have it. It did take awhile for it to get to the Youngsville store but once it did, they shipped a bunch.

That may be true, but it also happened immediately after Smarpty threw his 2nd or 3rd tirade about the Water Cooler on one of the Sports Boards...

The way I understood it from Steve was that a NC distillery can't ship direct to NC residences... In the case of Social House Vodka (out of Kinston, I think?), Florida State is reportedly their largest volume mover of NIL labeled product (ECU and at least a few others have a label as well) - so they may be shipping some of their vodka down to FL in bulk and bottling / labeling it down there, is all I can guess. Steve said it is shipping to us out of Florida, but he didn't get into any further specifics than that at the time...

I don't begin to know the ins and outs of the crazy people on this board, all I know is the thread was moved, but remains active, and hopefully those interested in the topic will continue to post on that existing thread, because that is the one I check.

I love seeing the different taste folks have for bourbon. I'm a cheap drinker.

Haha same. I do have a couple of more expensive bottles but most of mine are in the $20-45 range.

Ditto, and I only buy something as pricy as Savage Rye to support the collective. Makers, Elijah Craig, and a few others are more my taste for the price.
