And Steve, best wishes friend. It's been plain nasty around here and I know you're too smart to get caught in the middle of this crap. As a true Libertarian moderate, I've sat back and read the recent threads with a lot of popcorn.
Along the bottom, vertical line, but close to the middle. If you haven't seen this type of chart before, Left and Right refer to economic Left vs. economic Right.pineknollshoresking said:What exactly is a Libertarian moderate?WolfQuacker said:That's funny as hell.griff17matt said:

It would be awesome if you could have a poster or two that are in the district that he is running in. I would be a bit disappointed because i wouldn't be included there....but it would still be cool to do thatSteve Williams said:I think we're going to make this happen.cowboypack02 said:James - Can you make this happen? Fiscal conservative. Fairly liberal regarding social issues. Fan of smaller government.pineknollshoresking said:What exactly is a Libertarian moderate?WolfQuacker said:That's funny as hell.griff17matt said:

You guys seen this before? I know its 2016 but still probably applies. It seems like a lot of the Trump vote was the opposite of libertarian. Seems socially conservative to socially moderate and economically moderate is the key to winning a national election.WolfQuacker said:Fiscal conservative. Fairly liberal regarding social issues. That's true. Hence the reason I've moved farther away from the GOP since 2016ncsualum05 said:You guys seen this before? I know its 2016 but still probably applies. I assume there's a questionnaire or a quiz to place you on that chart, but I'd guess I'd fall on somewhere near the right side of the main line there.ncsualum05 said:You guys seen this before? I've always viewed the top and bottom parts of the graph (authoritarian/libertarian) as how much you want the government to push your values onto other people. Not necessarily what your personal opinions on things are. I really wish that chart had a 3rd dimension to clarify that.pineknollshoresking said:
A person can have very socially conservative views; however, don't want the government to act on them. Example:
I, personally believe homosexual marriage is wrong. I also believe the government shouldn't be issuing marriage licenses. Tax policies shouldn't condone certain behaviors, like marriage.
The result of that thinking would be open for people to marry whatever they want.
So, where does that fit into the scheme of the graphs?

Yes, I'm in the lonely bottom righthand corner, which has no home in either party right now. I don't like populists or socialistsncsualum05 said:
Isewolf are you saying that you belong in the empty lower right corner? You don't have much of a home do you? The government will never be fiscally conservative. So I've given up on that one. But other than that you probably fit the populist GOP mold more so than the socialists.
I'd bet the upper left corner is in large part the midwest.Civilized said:ncsualum05 said:You guys seen this before? I know its 2016 but still probably applies. Really interesting to see the self-grouping graphically, even if it kinda looks the way we'd all basically guess it would.
We badly need a break from the two-party system. Fiscally (more) conservative and socially liberal shouldn't be mutually exclusive.
