The U.S. Postal Service is investigating how three trays of mail, including absentee ballots, ended up in a ditch line in Wisconsin, a swing state whose voters could prove crucial in the upcoming elections.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office said the mail was found around 8 a.m. Monday morning near the intersection of highways 96 and CB, near the Appleton International Airport.
Police told Fox News the mail was supposed to be in transit to the post office and when discovered, was immediately returned to the Postal Inspector.
"The United States Postal Inspection Service immediately began investigating and we reserve further comment on this matter until that is complete," USPS spokesman Bob Sheehan said in a statement.

I'm sure that would be considered even more racist than something simple like just asking an "in person" voter for a photo ID, just to you know, make sure the person voting is who they say they are. Never have understood why anyone wanting a fair election could be against something as simple as that.

A federal judge has temporarily blocked the State Board of Elections' attempt to rewrite N.C. elections law. The board had tried to use a state-level lawsuit settlement to change absentee ballot rules.

U.S. District Court Judge James Dever issued a temporary restraining order on Saturday, Oct. 3, blocking a proposal to remove witness signature requirements from absentee ballots. Dever also moved lawsuits filed by leaders the General Assembly and Sampson County voter Patsy Wise, among other parties, to the supervision of U.S. District Court Judge William Osteen Jr. Osteen oversees a separate election lawsuit filed by a left-wing activist group.

Dever's restraining order remains in effect until Oct. 16, unless the legal issues are settled before then.
