I live in this neighborhood and that letter is disgraceful. I can't believe it.

Disgusting stuff. Not all that surprising, though. Glad they have the support of their community.

Those letter writers are going to be very upset the next few months.

I've seen many BLM signs in yard around Cary. My neighborhood has at least 4 and all of them are in the yards of white families

Just received this message from our HOA:

"On July 6th an article was posted by WRAL related to a letter received by an interracial family in Wake Forest, incorrectly identifying them as residents of the Wakefield Plantation Community Association. The incident occurred in an adjacent community that is not part of or associated with Wakefield Plantation. As of this morning, WRAL has removed the video that led viewers to believe the incident happened in Wakefield Plantation and modified the supporting article."

There's more, but that's the main point. Regardless, still a loathsome act.

Interesting but unfortunately not unexpected. Asking the media to actually do their homework on a story before just running something to try and sensationalize things is a field to far for "journalist" today

Editor's note: WRAL has received several inquiries from residents of Wakefield Plantation concerned that their neighborhood was mentioned as part of this story originally. The neighbors interviewed all identified themselves as Wakefield Plantation residents. Their mailboxes all have "WP" neighborhood logos on them. The neighborhood entrance has the "WP" logo on it. When the Wakefield Plantation Community Association pointed out that technically these homes are in Wakefield Estates, WRAL adjusted the story.

There's absolutely no proof that it IS true, other than the word of this family that claims they got the letter.

With as many of these supposed racial and homophobic incidents that are proven to be faked, I would say they all should be doubted unless there's some serious proof.

If they have a name, even a first name, the wake county register of deeds is online and WRAL should have been able to figure out who sent the letter, assuming this "Lori" owns her property. I know anyone can do this, because its how I figured out my new neighbors last names (after they told me a couple of times and I forgot). It admittedly would have been time consuming, but as a news organization, you should be able to vet your stories.
