Velos have gone up and hitters have caught up. You need to have multiple pitches or have a ton of break/run on the ones you do throw. A 90mph fastball with rise/run is harder to hit than a flat 95 mph one.

A TON of different things can change a pitcher, just one tweak and he is a different guy.

Quinn Bentley named to CPL All Star team. Guy can rake. Surprised he didn't get any look at all this year. I don't believe he portaled which is a bit surprising. Also noticed he has transitioned to OF which I think makes sense. Was a 3 sport athlete in HS.

Yup, i grew up in Wilmington so I am a fan of Quinn. Pretty close with one of his coaches. Kid is a very nice athlete (big time in football too), so at minimum he should be a nice depth piece. Hope he gets a fair share because he can play some

I use to tell people that I couldn't throw the ball by you but I could damn sure throw it around you. Would have been nice to be able to do both every once in a while

Dont think he is. Seems like a few guys are focusing on individual training/lifting which is becoming more and more common

IMO that is a weird call for him. With the limited AB's this year I would think he would want to get more game reps in the summer.

If I were a pitcher that threw more than 30 innings I don't think I would pitch at all in the summer unless it was somewhere like the Cape.

I agree, reps are super important. And I could be wrong, but i have seen zero on him playing anywhere. I wonder if his brother had anything to do with it (not that there's anything wrong with that), but Eli was also a full time starter as a freshman. Would have been nice to see him getting consistent ABs somewhere

I feel like the Serrano family probably has a good idea what Christian needs to do, with a father and brother that are/were pros. Also possible that there is some injury or rehabbing we don't know about.
