Just look at Dudan and the transformation he made last year.
Velos have gone up and hitters have caught up. You need to have multiple pitches or have a ton of break/run on the ones you do throw. A 90mph fastball with rise/run is harder to hit than a flat 95 mph one.
A TON of different things can change a pitcher, just one tweak and he is a different guy.
