IPS IN 5: Down To One Game For The Wolfpack?

It's time to celebrate Avent's career and move on. Throw him a party, give him a role in the athletic dept like Whitt, and let's have a fresh start. I just can't get excited about State baseball any more. I go to games at the Doak every year. I've been to the ACC tourney in Durham and Charlotte. I can't even watch right now. I love Avent but please know when it's time to call it a career. Name something for him and name the next coach.

I've been around for a long time, and NC State has always been known to have scrapy competitive teams. Out manned and underfunded, the Wolfpack fights, usually. Last nght was wierd. I watched the women's tennis team fight tooth and nail against #1 Georgia on their home court. The score says UGa won 4-1, but it was closer than that. They stopped the match once one team got to 4.

Then I flip to the baseball game on our home field and against the tarholes. No heart. No fight. No pride. No scrappy Wolfpack.

I do not know what the answer is, but something needs to give.

They're not outmanned. That's the problem. Maybe without Marohn and Dudan they are, but it's not a big gap

Where it matters most State is light years behind Carolina especially without the 2 arms. Just too many misses and not enough high end acquisitions on the pitching staff.
