This team pisses down their leg over and over again. Offensively, defensively, pitching, coaching. They just don't make winning plays when it matters.

Nance is dealing. Who do you think comes up in relief first?

Would have loved to have seen a Marohn, Dudan, Nance rotation. I would argue there wouldn't have been a better rotation in the country.

I don't really keep up with baseball but one thing I know. UNC baseball has a lot more $ than NC State Baseball. This will be Avent's final season, but unless the $ situation changes it won't matter who Boo hires.
More money is always good but I'm not sure why it matters in this scenario? What's the issue? State has more than enough talent. They've averaged 5 draft picks per year since covid and are set for like 8 this year. Isn't that the whole point of having money?
UNC has a 3.64 ERA. NC State has a 5.39 ERA. I would imagine that's about the $ available to acquire talent and depth in the pitching staff. It matters.
It's about HS recruiting. None of those UNC guys are portal guys.
And guess what, you need $ for top HS guys too.
Other than 2B their entire infield is portal/JUCO. None were really big ticket portal guys that cost a mint.
RF was a walk on. CF was a portal kid from George mason. Their C was a portal addition from Ga State and another C came from duke and he's been DH'ng.
Their pitching staff (minus the lefty from last night) is homegrown from HS but none were highly ranked to the point it costs a mint in NIL to get them.
I totally agree we need to spend more money and Elliott is too old school to do that. Hart or whomever takes over will try to raise money, they have to.
Baseball is different in that the truly top HS guys get drafted and don't attend college. Guys like Ty Head got some money but it ain't football/basketball type money. Unc ain't spending too much more than us, IMO. Problem is it's more, which I think is your point.

I thought Nance would've gone one more but I'm glad it is Hemric. I really don't hope we see both.
You need 7 more outs. I'd ride with him the whole time

I've seen enough of our bullpen to wish they would've pushed Nance one more inning. Hope this works out for us. We need this one bad!

It's a fair amount more. Forbes has some donors helping.

They heard you and delivered. So we're likely the 8th seed?

Maybe. You're prolly right.
I'll ask Scott again next time I see him.

Feeling a little bit better now.
Just need 6 more outs and to hold at least a 6 run lead.

I think with UVA losing but I'm not positive how that works.

Announcers just mentioned that due to tiebreakers we are either the 9th or 10th seed

Might not be the worst thing. Probably aren't winning the ACC championship with the pitching depth.
So if you can string together a couple wins would help the NCAA Tournament chances.
