The RPI is not looking great right now. However, over the next two weeks we have a huge opportunity to help ourselves out. We're sitting at 2-6 in Q1 games so far. We'll now play 7 Q1 games in a row starting tomorrow night against ECU. Big chance to get ourselves back in the hosting talk over the next two weeks if we can perform well.

I think you have to see more consistency from the offense. You aren't going to hit it every game but man you have to have better ABs even when you aren't hitting it. The amount of games they get shut down by completely average pitchers is alarming.

Pair that with the RPI hosting feels line a huge long shot.

Definitely a long shot. But if we can win the next two series and beat ECU on Tuesday we'll be at least in the conversation.

I'm hoping to string enough conference wins together to get top 4 in the league. Do that, the other stuff probably falls into place anyway. Mid weeks might be tougher pitching wise being short handed, especially against teams looking for a big win and willing to use their better arms, so I would focus on the weekends and hope the bats can win you some shootouts during the week. I do think the team is on an upswing at the right time, which they typically do, just tough being short handed.

I mean there's definitely a path. I just don't think this team will reach it. Probably have to win 20 ACC games maybe 19. That would be winning 12 of 15 remaining.

Avent teams always come into form and are strong in late April/May/June, last year being a notable exception.

3 more Q1 games this weekend. Another opportunity to get a favorable RPI number.

All the way up to 38, +14 spots after this 3-1 week.

Normally wouldn't condone cancelling midweeks because it feels cheap, but with the long trip to CA and our pitching situation it feels like it would be for the best.

Regardless, keep building.

We were in the "last 4 in" bubble going into this weekend along with Pitt and Vanderbilt. Both of those teams have dropped in the RPI while we helped ourselves out a lot. I would think going into the Stanford series we are off that bubble for the moment. Could certainly benefit with a road series win next week and take the uncertainty out of it.

2 out of 3 against Stanford and don't get swept by UNC and we are good to go.
