Why? They cruise through a mediocre conference every year and then get smacked by real teams in the tournament. We ran them off the field twice this year and we aren't even good.

Whatever.
Might have helped us. UTSA was in the field as the auto-bid in the AAC, now it goes to ECU- who we beat twice. Our RPI and SOS are both higher than UTSA's.

I don't even hate their baseball program because they are irrelevant. Win their 1 bid, maybe 2 on a good year, league and then bow out before Omaha every year. Who cares. State would dominate the American every year too.

I only had one definite bid stealer in the Big West. SoCon could be a second if Mercer gets in, but D1 currently has them out

Thinking the same thing. I think that gets the benefit of the doubt for State.

Yep. I feel like hosts are usually more aligned with the RPI than actual bids. Have to hope that's the case.
Still can't believe we didn't get in in 2022 with an RPI of 33. Absurd.

D1 Baseball did their mock selection show and had us as the third to last team in. Hoping the Avent story is the deciding factor if we're right on the line.
Either way, Chris Hart, please schedule real teams in the nonconference next year. Embarrassing schedule out of the league.

I'm not looking at ECU in terms of their results. I talk with most coaches across the state and up and down the east coast. ECU, Campbell, and Carolina have some of the best coaching staffs when it comes to high school relations and communication. Coach Palumbo at ECU is one of the best guys in the business.
