I'm not sold on Luke at short. I'd almost prefer to let Johnson play second when we face a lefty but that won't happen either.
They need to figure out a way to maximize the lineups vs better pitching though.

They've lost 16-3 and 23-3. They might be masochistic.
Playing all these teams that have been snowed in and not being able to go outside has made it an easy early season thus far. Just batting practice and bad defense has been the story.
This poor kids ERA is going to be over 30 by the time he is pulled.

I was trying to remember from my scorekeeping days about that. If he gets an out on a force, then he may not get an error. My problem is that the runner who scored would never have been on 3rd. Not that it matters now that they hit a 3 run homer.

I looked it up out of curiosity having never really seen that. I think there's two things at play. In theory a force out is always a fielder's choice.
The scorer also has judgement on whether or not the runner on 2nd would have reasonably reached 3b on the catch and throw, which I think can be argued for.
All that said, catch the ball and make a throw lol.

I don't think he runs if he catches it clean, but that is why it is on the judgment of score keeper and not us lol.
That is tough for a pitcher. "Save the pen and try to keep them under 15."
