COMMIT ALERT: LSU Infielder Mikey Ryan Picks NC State

NC State has landed a commitment from LSU freshman infielder Mikey Ryan.  He posted it on Instagram.

He was rated the No. 30 ranked shortstop and No. 113 ranked overall high school player in 2024 by Perfect Game.

Ryan played in 16 games this year for LSU and was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two walks.

He is NC State first’s first position player added out of the portal. Inside Pack Sports will have more shortly on Ryan!

Defensive replacement late in games.

All things equal, this kid was highly regarded coming out of HS and even got an invite to the MLB draft combine, which is a big deal for a HS kid.

Bad luck for him that Monster Milam made the transition to SS from 2B and was damn good this year.

Ideally I'd rather have experience as well.
