I have no insight here but the best I can come up with is kids are accustomed to moving around. He has 1 year left and is from FL so maybe he is just enticed by going back and spending his last year in FL somewhere. I will continue to say that you will get more program loyalty on average from in state guys than guys from FL or wherever.

They didn't really say. Basically talked about what was talked about on here. Sosa was pretty poor defensively, above average offensively. NC State could have considered getting a catcher this offseason regardless.

But as for why he is actually leaving, they didn't go into it. Probably pretty safe to assume it was a factor of things- NIL, maybe lack of performance, etc.

Have they said how many full scholarships they are going to give out next year? 34 probably not realistic but Im assuming it will make almost as big of deal as NIL if not more.

I think anybody who you project to play next year would need to be offered a full ride to be competitive. Maybe thr back portion of thr roster that is more developmental doesn't have full??

State seems to be slow on being transparent as to breakdowns of a lot of stuff. Some Universities have given a breakdown of how the school will divide up the Revenue Sharing. Whether they are going to fund the entire 20.5M allowed and how they will break that down. Revenue sharing literally starts next week. You would think that they would be pretty close to having that breakdown. Now add in the scholarship allotments you would think if ECU knows how many they are giving that State has some idea of what they want to do. Is the University just going to wait til they HAVE to lawfully release the budget numbers because they are a Public University?

At this point seems like we all are just guessing at money and scholarships that are available but that have a big deal to why kids are making decisions. Like in basketball it seems like they spent more than what was speculated. Thus adding a Van Lubin with a Williams. And thats with everyone beiing on full scholarships. Baseball seems like a huge variable of scholarship allotment. And that will have have a huge influence on who they will have a shot at bringing in and who you can keep out of the portal.

He's going into his money year and needs to have a big season. Maybe he thinks it is State's fault he hasn't already?

Also, I think these days its hard to say money isn't a factor at all.

I agree - he should chase the money

There is no guarantee he starts if he goes to another top 25 program. You start slow and you could be on the bench.
