Kind of silly although playing Heavner at 3B was a mistake.

Here is what I will say, looking backwards EA has done a fine job as the skipper at State. Looking ahead, well that scares me with this staff. I would not be surprised to see EA exit stage left from this mess. EA is a relationship guy and those are going out window with portal.

He had one good game all year.

It's one of two things, almost always in today's college sports environment. I'm not getting "playing time", or I'm hoping for money! I got a call from the WPC about a week ago, asking for baseball NIL money. It's where we are guys….. And, I hate it too!

He hit as many HRs in 30 ABs as Heavner did in 120

Hart and Bo Rob need a raise because their job just got a lot more difficult.

The game is changing right now at warp speed. Nobody doubts what the staff can do with a team. This is about building a roster under completely different conditions.

This coming year sort of reminds me of the last year of KK from a roster building standpoint. The money and the landscape quickly changed and it caught State and KK flat footed. We will see if the baseball staff is better prepared than KK was.

He was hurt the whole year. I had a class with him. Good dude.

Thanks.
Was he pitching while he was hurt because he made a few appearances here and there. I guess also why is he transferring if it was just an injury.

Will be interesting to see if Smith actually ends up at another school since he's draft eligible. Guys like him may be taking a cue from basketball and putting their name in the portal while also pursuing pro options.
Just a guy on the sunshine squad.

See I would think with someone like him it will come down to his medicals. You didn't pitch hardly any this year and velo was down, let me see that scan before I am giving you any money at all.

Thought Heavner might move to second if Nixon moved to SS

Nixon had issues to me this season at 2B defensively toward the end and I certainly wouldn't be pencilling him in as starting SS next year. He missed some plays I expected him to make. Think we will try to bring in another SS for next year.

None of these surprise me and frankly nobody transferring would surprise me. We just don't have the $$$ for baseball and I 100% expect to lose good players
Nixon is a 2nd baseman, you could have given him a shot at short this last year and let Heavner play 2nd but didn't.

I'm not concerned with Woodson leaving, he hit a few fastballs at the bottom of the order with zero scouting reports against him, watch Auburn at bats they carved him up likely the same in practice all year. We will add better players and compete just like this year. Pitching and defense wins championships need to keep our dudes and add a few arms

He doesn't even throw a slider. He throws an old school 12/6 that probably doesn't reach 80.

What a great move to keep an absolute Stud in Sosa! We had Cozy last year lol, was super happy Sosa was able to DH when not catching to keep him this year, results
.291 average
.935 OPS
.401 OBP
.534 Slugging
55 hits 16 Doubles 10 HR 40 RBIs

Sosa almost missed a good chunk of the season playing in only 35 of the 61 games last year, starting 30 of those.

He was hitting over .320 the last 15 or so games of the year.

M_A watches like 3 games a year. Pay no mind. haha

You have no clue what you are talking about, it is 10000% a slider. The pitch doesn't have to "Slide" to be a slider.

Idk if Woodson should have been the guy all season but the PT and way the 3B position was handled all year was very weird and very unlike how Avent has handled his spots in the past. It was all strange and I don't know how anyone can deny that.

Woodson had 3 HRs in 34 plate appearances, and Heavner had 3 HRs in 153. That's not all you need at the 3B position but this team needed some power. And Heavner didn't provide it against any type of pitching, especially taking into account the position he was playing.
