This can't be serious. The folks who want Avent to be fired or to step away are living in fantasy land. We went to the CWS last year and have been to 3 of our 4 in school history in the past 12 years. He isn't hurting anything and shouldn't be asked to step away for a long time. Outside Wes, he's been the best major sport coach we've had in a long time. All with some of the worst resources in the conference. Wish we would cut this crap out already.

I think we can recognize that Avent has done a very nice job the last several years and at the same time be very concerned about his style meshing with the new environment of college sports and baseball.

We went to the CWS last year, lost a ton of talent and still made a 2 seed this year. All, again, with some of the worst resources in the conference.

Can someone look up all the schools that have made 3 or more of the last 12 CWS's and compare their resources and facilities to ours? I think that should put this argument to bed. Our athletic dept has taken a **** on our baseball program and Avent just keeps plugging along with NCAA tournaments, super regionals and CWS appearances.

This has to be the worst argument I've read on these boards.

Proof there is no IQ test to join IPS.

Any other coach with the **** facilities we have would have done much worse. A lot easier to make a coaching change when you have an attractive job. With our facilities being at or very near the bottom of the ACC, good luck getting someone worth a **** to come here.

Interesting that an "average coach" took us to Omaha so recently.

This isn't a great post either. Look when you are thr head of a program for 30 years the facilities are yours. It is your responsibility to garner the suppprt to keep your facilities in line with your peers. Does our Coach not have relationships with influential donors. Can he need get the administration over 30 years behind a capital campaign. This is a leadership issue.

Acent has done a nice job in terms of results but let's stop with the BS facilities excuses and talking about how bad the job is. This patently false and it is his responsibility to garner support for thr facilities when you are thr head man for 30 years.
