Investigating the double bye in the acc baseball tourney:
0 wins this weekend and we're 5th to 8th place heading into Durham (single bye only).
If we win 1 game, we clinch no worse than 5th in the acc, and probably still get a double bye at 4th place
2 wins clinches no worse than 3rd place finish for us (but probably 2nd place, with an outside chance at 1st)
3 wins = 1st or 2nd place.
-----------------
Another interesting "what if" is if we have one of our games canceled versus Stanford, we reenter a potential tiebreaker with FSU and/or UVA.
At 18-9, tied with FSU, NC State would actually get the #1 seed, due to record versus common opponents*:
Unc (1-1 v 2-1)
Ville (2-1 v 1-2)
Clemp (3-0 v 2-1)
VT (2-1 v 3-0)
Miami (0-2 v 2-1)
Cal (3-0 v 2-1)
Record vs common opponents = 11-5 for nc state > 12-6 for fsu
Nc state wins tiebreaker (*Assuming my understanding of the acct seeding tiebreaker is correct)
