Worst part me outside of the defense is Knapp was at like 40 pitches at the end of the second inning. After that we made it very easy on him and just quit working counts.

I'm sure we have some they recruited as well. They also have always hit Jersey and NY really hard and we hit FL hard.

Wow glad I went to the Braves game instead of watching this.

Have to find a way to regroup and be better tonight. They hit us around a little bit but the bottom line is 1 run is never going to win. Last night we gave them 2 runs - and then it piled on when it became very evident early we were not going to hit Knaap.

Need to make some changes in the lineup

That's correct. All (now) 47 games

This is not an offensive juggernaut but they are good enough offensively to support an elite pitching staff. To me, the key to success the rest of the way is leaning on this staff to be elite. We need Marohn, Fritton, Nance, Dudan, Shaffner, and 1-2 more guys to really get locked in down the stretch here. Need quality 6-7 inning starts from Fritton, Nance, and Marohn and then hand it over to Dudan and Shaffner. Would love to see SVD and Smith fill in gaps, but it may be too late there - possibly Andrews can give us good 1-2 inning stretches out of the pen.

The pitching staff was always going to be the key to this roster. Need the staff to really step up and deliver down the stretch.
