I didn't get not pinch hitting for Lamphere when they brought the lefty in. It worked out because he got the ground out to first but thought that was an opportunity.

I really want to believe this team can make a run but I just can't trust the bats enough. They have proven it wrong in ACC play but just feels like they're going to be bullpenned to death at some point in a big matchup.

Why were we willing to use Dudan and Smith but not Nance?

Because Nance threw starter innings essentially on the weekend and Dudan threw about 15 pitches. Nance needs some rest and Dudan needs some work.

RISP killed us last night. Plenty of opportunities to take care of business. The struggles we've had with mid week games the last couple of years is perplexing to me. I know you're going to lose a few of those but our loss rate seems to be a lot higher in these outings than it should be. Oh well, hopefully we can refocus quickly and get ready for Miami.

Like most teams have, injuries happen and they had 4 guys go down in Fall / pre-season who were going to contribute on mound (either mid-week or weekends). It is what it is, but P injuries will hit teams hard in mid-week usually.
They will be fine if they just take care of business on weekends as they have been.

We have a guy like Consigkio who many figured would be pivotal on weekends starting. You would expect that to be good enough for mid week games pitching.

The pitching wasn't perfect, but it was plenty good enough to win this game. The bats let us down in this one, not the pitching.

Yep which further refutes the guys' post that I replied too. Injuries in the fall aren't having much impact on midweek performance.
