The offense has come around. In fact its been the best in baseball for a couple of weeks now. Everyone's hitting. Soto is on a heater, the big bats at the tops are delivering, guys like Baty, Vientos, and even Torrens are making the bottom of the order dangerous too.
The young promotions are getting it done on the bump (McLean and Tong). It's really the veteran starters that's holding the team back. Senga and Manaea primarily. Peterson has had a couple of stinkers lately, but overall he's been solid. Manaea and Senga can not get through 5 innings, much less 6. It's stretching the bullpen thin and causing issues there too. Helsley has been an absolute disaster so far, but that's another story.
If Manaea and Senga can get right this team is dangerous the way it's hitting right now. But man pitching is a major concern at the moment. If the playoffs started today who are the Mets trusting to start a series?
Nolan McLean is probably the most trusted arm right now and he's thrown 4 career games!
