Student-athletes from all 22 varsity sports teams gathered at James T. Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum on Monday evening for the 2025 Wolfie Awards. The gala showcased the best of Wolfpack Athletics over the past calendar year.
Grace Hartman from women's cross country and Vincent Robinson from wrestling were named recipients of the H.C. Kennett Award, the highest athletic honor at NC State. The Kennett Award is given annually to a superior student-athlete who demonstrates the finest attributes of good sportsmanship and team play.
The only female to in program history to earn Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in both women's outdoor track & field and cross country, Hartman maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her academic career. She was the recipient of the NCAA Elite 90 award at the 2024 Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships. Having led the Pack in every race she competed in, Hartman established herself as one of the nation's premier runners after finishing with a series of top finishes at major meets.
The eighth individual national champion in program history and the first at 125 pounds, Robinson solidified his name in the record book in just his first season competing for the Pack. The redshirt-freshman became the first freshman to win a national championship in the weight class since 2018. He finished the season with seven ranked wins, two of which were against top-10 opponents. Robinson was consistently ranked one of the highest freshmen amongst all weight classes in the final few weeks of the regular season
Several other standout student-athletes were honored at the event, including All-Americans, Academic All-Americans, and Most Valuable Performers for each team.

Rookie of the Year
Award to a male and female freshman that has had a significant impact on their team's competitiveness.
Leah Shakley, Women's Swimming & Diving: The Bedford, Pa. native made an impressive impact since arriving on campus. Currently ranked 15th among all female swimmers, according to USA Swimming, she earned the title of the fastest freshman swimmer in the NCAA for the 2024-25 season. She became a six-time All-American, four-time NCAA podium finisher, three-time pool record holder, three-time ACC Bronze medalist, two-time school record holder, and ACC silver medalist in just her first season with the Wolfpack.
Vincent Robinson, Wrestling: Robinson became the eighth individual national champion in program history and just the first freshman to win a national championship since 1980. He posted a 24-3 record on the season to reach a career high ranking of third in the nation in his weight class and was consistently one of the highest ranked freshmen among all weight classes in the final portion of the regular season.
Comeback Player of the Year
Awarded to the student-athlete who has overcome significant or prolonged injury or illness to then provide a major contribution to their team.
Matty Singleton, Wrestling: After breaking his wrist two times in 11 months with two surgeries, Singleton missed the entirety of the 2023-24 season. He returned to competition during the 2024-25 season and posted a 22-9 record on the season in the 174 pound weight class. He was the only individual ACC Champion for the Pack this season and earned All-American honors, in addition to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Heart of the Pack Award
Presented to a male and female student-athlete who demonstrates the attributes of being a good teammate, giving great effort, having an exceptional attitude, and being mindful of themselves and others.

Individual Performance of the Year
Awarded to a male and female student-athlete that had an outstanding performance in a competition.
Aziaha James vs. 10th-ranked Duke, Women's Basketball: James scored a career high 36 points, which was instrumental in the Pack's 89-83 win over 10th-ranked Duke at Reynolds Coliseum. Her 36 points marked the most in a single game for a member of the Pack since 1998 and it marked her third 30+ point game at NC State. She earned several accolades for the performance, including ACC Player of the Week, USBWA National Player of the Week, March Madness Player of the Year and AP Player of the Week runner up.
Vincent Robinson at the NCAA Championships, Wrestling: Robinson posted a 5-0 record over five days of competition, including one bonus point win in the first round. He went on to win the National Championship in the 125 pound weight class and helped push the Wolfpack to a top-10 team finish in the NCAA tournament. The redshirt-freshman became the first freshman to win a national championship at NC State since 1980
Team Performance of the Year
Awarded to a team that had an outstanding performance in competition.
Women's Basketball, Win over No.1/1 Notre Dame: The Wolfpack welcomed first-ranked Notre Dame to Reynolds Coliseum on Feb. 23 in addition to ESPN's College Game Day. The Pack put on a stellar performance, defeating the Irish in double overtime, 104-95. The win marked the fifth over a first-ranked opponent in program history and first since 2021. The win also gave the Wolfpack the No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament and secured a share of the regular season title. Sophomore Zoe Brooks posted a career high 33 points, including going 14-of-14 from the charity stripe in the win.
Men's Soccer, Second Round of the NCAA Tournament vs Georgetown: Under the leadership of first year head coach Marc Hubbard, the men's soccer team earned its first Sweet 16 bid in over 30 years after shutting out fourth-seed Georgetown on the road in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The second round appearance marked the first since 2018 for the program. The Pack handed the Hoyas their second home loss of the season after winning 2-0 with goals scored by Drew Lovelace and Donovan Philip.
Pride of the Pack Award
The recipient of this award commits to the four guiding tenets of Trust, Accountability, Passion and Empathy. The student-athlete who received this award not only embodies these principles themselves but also commits to upholding these core values for their teammates and other student-athletes to follow.

Awarded to a men's and women's team that had an outstanding season.
Women's Basketball: Coming off a historic 2023-24 season, the Pack was ready to continue making history. After being selected to finish second in the ACC and entering the season ranked No. 8/9 in national polls, the Wolfpack exceeded expectations as it made its 19th ACC Tournament Championship game appearance and 17th Sweet Sixteen appearance. Finishing tied for first for the regular season title, highlighted by an 18-0 home record and head coach Wes Moore earning his fourth ACC Coach of the Year award, the Pack concluded the regular season as runner-up in the ACC Tournament. The Wolfpack earned a two-seed and eighth-overall ranking in the NCAA Tournament, going on to defeat Vermont and Michigan State, before falling to LSU in the Sweet Sixteen. Led by Saniya Rivers, Aziaha James, Madison Hayes and Zoe Brooks, the Pack finished the season 28-7 overall and 16-2 in conference action.
Baseball: After battling throughout the regular season, the Wolfpack went on to make its fourth College World Series appearance in program history after winning both the Raleigh Regional and Athens Super Regional. The Pack opened the Super Regional against the seventh-seeded Bulldogs with a historic win that was fueled by an 11-run second inning. Despite the Bulldogs evening the series in game two, the Wolfpack was hungry in game three and marked its 16th comeback win of the season to defeat Georgia, 8-5 and punch the program's fourth ticket to Omaha. The Pack squared off with Kentucky in game one, going to extra innings, before meeting with Florida in game two. Since 2013, the Pack, under the tutelage of head coach Elliott Avent, has finished its season in Omaha three times.
