Nance was incredible tonight. Struck out 6 of the last 9 batters. ZERO hits in 5 innings
Retired all 15 batters. Series win, get the sweep tomorrow.

I think Andrews as an "opener" isn't all bad as long as you keep the leash short enough. Nance gives you so much length out of the pen. I'd like to see him as a starter but in his role pretty dang important and valuable too.

Puts us solo 4th for a day. Would be even with UNC if both sweep
Great job by the boys tonight to come back and win.
Nance was sensational and he faced 15 batters and got 15 outs. Great catch by Head on the first batter and they hit a couple hard ones in the 9th, but he was in control. I could be forgetting somebody, but Nance may be the best freshman pitcher State has had since Carlos Rodon. He has got a live arm, excellent control, he doesn't waste any time and as I said I love his mechanics.
Great catch by Frassman earlier in the game.

Have had a bunch of studs. Brian Brown, Reid Johnston, and Highfill were all freshman All Americans (Highfill Covid freshman)
ETA: Swinney was awesome in a similar position as Nance. Same with Villaman. And Matt was so steady in his Covid freshman season.
Crazy to think what this staff would be like if coop and drock were even status quo from last year and SVD and peissel weren't on the shelf.

Really, really need a sweep here.
Clemson series swings the season, IMO, and need as much momentum as possible going into that. They're running a gauntlet right now but finding ways to win. Vault up the list to host a super if you can take 2 from them. Knaak is going to make that tough to do from the jump on Friday

Have to win 14 of the last 16 (According to the Needs Report) to even get a top 16 rpi, which is nuts. Impossible to get a top 8 rpi, so probably have to win/tie for the acc regular season to give the committee a reason to give us a top 8.
For example, if we lose tomorrow, RPI will drop back into the 40s... would be no rpi gain by winning the road series 2 of 3

Is that the Boyd's thing? I don't think that factors in opponents RPI movement. If State finishes with 19 or 20 conference wins and wins out in non con, there's a strong argument to be made. RPI doesn't have to be top 8
