Gonna end up ranting. Sosa dropped a foul tip strike 3 before the bloop that scored two because of a passed ball. Cozart was so special and this season's catcher defense has highlighted that further.
Ben Miller is 2-2 with two HR's and a walk, state as a team is 2-15.

I will say Fritton bouncing it 5ft short on that turf doesn't help but I agree on Cozart.

This team just isn't good right now…
They don't do any of the small things at all, just not very fundamental as cliche as that sounds, I know it has to drive Avent crazy.

Move Nixon back to the OF, slide Jaros to third and Heavner to 2nd, try to get another power bat like Ossenfort in somewhere.
Offense is struggling too much to just stick with the same lineup and try to win on pitching and defense.
It is also past time to move Head up in the lineup, anyone with a .500 OBP doesn't need to be batting 9th, arguably should be batting lead off or second.

Agreed, when is the last time Ossenfort got an AB? This team was supposed to have so much depth, let's get some new guys in the lineup.

Outside of the two bloop hits from Head and Heavner, I'm about 99% sure that nothing has even threatened to leave the infield
Gonna be tough to avoid a sweep this weekend.

There's no magic pill insertion into this lineup that's gonna fix anything. The errors happened in the offseason with roster construction. Got bit trying to go with guys who were considered talented in high school but couldn't crack it elsewhere. Production >>>>>

I'm not arguing with you there but there isn't any reason to just keep rolling with the same lineup and hoping for better results. You have Jaros who has proven to hit (In limited sample) sitting the bench. I don't care about third base defense enough when you're are producing anyways.

Heavner might be the only guy hitting the ball hard and is saving significant runs at 3b. Can't move him
Jaros had a hit against Ohio State who I like because of Haire but isn't very good. Nothing production wise anywhere else against teams that have tournament hopes. And maybe that's opportunity, but if they thought he could hit he would/will be inserted. I just don't see it with him, Ossenfort, or Lyons.
