NC State welcomes the Liberty Flames to Doak Field Tuesday 02/18/2025 at 3 PM before heading to Jacksonville, Florida for the Jax Baseball Classic. Liberty comes to Doak 3-0 having swept St. Johns this past weekend.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

I'd guess Lucas, but I also could see alot get an inning as well, to get ready for the stiffer weekend comp coming up.

I'd guess Lucas, but I also could see alot get an inning as well, to get ready for the stiffer weekend comp coming up.


Imagine one of those two or Shaffner. Then all hands of bullpen arms for 1-2 innings.

RHP Matt Willadsen (NCSU) vs. RHP Dylan Mathiesen (LIB)

Mathiesen was Libertys game 1 starter vs St. Johns. Went 4 perfect innings with 6 Ks. Only threw 39 pitches, so maybe that is why they are pitching him in the midweek?

A little surprising to see Matt get the start. Happy for him though. Good sign to throw on 3 days rest.

Liberty's projected arm wasn't used a ton last year. Notably pitched well against UNCW, but got beat up pretty good by VT, Coastal, & Duke

Agree, like it a lot.

I too am surprised to see Matt W go today but I'm guessing it's a normal throw day for him? Someone that knows baseball better than me probably knows.

My family friend at UNC is throwing today after pitching Saturday so seems semi-normal/accepted. And way too early for coaches to be doing silly stuff with arms. Probably on a pretty low pitch count. Hoping he looks as good as he did this weekend. His changeup is still nasty as ever

Kinda the same inning he had vs Fordham. Soft contact (or no contact vs Fordham), but hung one that got hit hard. Still promising his stuff looks good and he is in the zone
