Sorry if this is old news, but I don't remembering seeing it in any threads. Might be buried in the Improvements to Doak thread somewhere, but I apologize if so.

This is infuriating. So we have money to build a new softball stadium but are going to half-ass a baseball renovation? The one athletic program that deserves it the most. How about we keep the softball stadium we have (which apparently we just spent money on a state of the art locker room), and spend 30-40 million instead of 20 and make Doak an actual college baseball stadium we can be proud of. One that will be on par with our peers. Is there anything wrong with the softball stadium we have?

My understanding from talking with Coach Leftwich at WPC event last fall, it there is the funding does not exist and she has no idea when, or if, this will happen.

Yall, please read the info. The dorms are bring torn down for new dorms. The softball will be at Lee Field. This won't happen until 2032 at the earliest.

That's only 7 years away. And I'm not concerned about 60 year old dorms being torn down. I'm just disappointed we are not putting this money into the program that deserves it. Meanwhile softball has a perfectly fine stadium now with more updated locker room/clubhouse than our baseball team has.

While I love the Doak and all it has on campus, not getting the baseball stadium built by CF/Lenovo/Practice Complex sucks. Won't happen now with the Canes expansion I'm sure.

Sounds like you need to read comments above from the coach again. Of Coach doesn't have a clue about this and doesn't think it's going to happen then less than 1% chance this happens. Baseball will be getting a ton of funds

I have no idea what comments you are referring to. I just clicked on the link again and the update from yesterday says it's no longer being pursued. So I guess the whole article and everything was just jumping the gun. Much ado about nothing.

The university has had its eye on the existing softball space land for 15 years . They think Reynolds , Carmichael , Talley and some new student services buildings at the existing softball area would be the main student hub . Could also free up the Case bottom floor if dining moved to a new building . If they want it they gotta pay for it
