I was aware of the grass roots effort to bring MLB to Raleigh, but was not aware Tom Dundon had joined the endeavor. He is mentioned in this ESPN article.

This movement to bring MLB to Raleigh seems to be gaining steam, and not so much of a long shot now. Major sports outlets including ESPN, the Athletic, Forbes Sports, etc are all now acknowledging that Raleigh is a major player.

I've been following the "official" MLB to Raleigh account on Instagram closely for the past month or so. They've been making solid arguments that Raleigh beats out every other city being talked about for expansion after considering all of the most important factors in totality: population of the Raleigh area, having a billionaire/owner group (Dundon) that is interested, local government funding/support, etc.

Many are considering Nashville to be the "frontrunner", but Raleigh beats Nashville by many metrics, as highlighted in this post:
