Ronald Acuña Jr. was examined last night. They recommend an MRI. It showed irritation in the right meniscus. Plan now is to see a doctor in LA. Braves expect him to be ready for opening day.

With presumably 1 start left, Spencer Strider has thrown 18 2/3 innings this spring + has yet to allow a run
— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) March 17, 2024
only 2 pitchers since at least 2006 have gone an entire spring without allowing a run AND thrown at least that many IP:
2018 Kershaw: 21 1/3 IP
2014 Verlander: 20 IP

Spencer Strider’s ERA this spring: 0.00.

He did not allow a run – not even an unearned run – over 21 2/3 innings. He struck out 34 batters.
I think he’s ready for Opening Day.

Basically, Strider visited Dr. Meister in Dallas yesterday. The Braves aren’t revealing what was said before this weekend. So instead of saying today that he’s going to have TJ surgery, they might just wait a few more days to confirm he had surgery. https://t.co/aYGGumPU6V
