Avent said on interview with MLB Network in April or May Rodon and Turner had made donation to Doak Field at Dail Park stadium project.

Really enjoyed the interview. A couple highlights:
- Wants to retire once the renovations are done so he can hand that off to the next guy (and has 3 years left on his contract)
- The hitting facility will be named for Turner and the pitching lab for Rodon
- They don't really want to use the transfer portal as they view themselves as a developmental program but will take a guy who fills a specific need
- Very high on Jaxon Lucas & the rest of the recruiting class but said his name multiple times. Maybe a hint at him getting a shot to start right away at SS?

Both have donated already. Turner twice although the second one was split I believe between Gymnastics and Baseball where the first was strictly Baseball.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em.

You could be right but I really do think Jaxon will start out on the bump. He could pull an Evan Mendoza and switch but he's got some juice in that arm from the mound.

Thanks for the insight here. EA never mentioned a position, just his name a few times so I went to Perfect Game and they had him listed as a SS so I made the assumption that way.

Also, I know Giglio gets a lot of flack on here (for reasons I don't really understand), but he seems to have a great relationship with Avent, Doeren, and Keatts. And these pizza podcasts are fun to see them a little more out of the ordinary studio/press conference.

If Joe has a great relationship with Dave, it's something that's been repaired significantly over the last few years, because he definitely didn't before. I know some people that know Joe, and they tell me he is a good guy, and that's fine. I don't care for many of the things he said and wrote over the years covering our school, but I can separate my dislike for how he did his job from the person.

It was a good listen for sure. I really think EA mentioned Jaxon b/c A) he's really really good and B) he's friends with the Giglio family. Mostly related to B.

Perfect Game had Sam Highfill listed as a 3B so those can't exactly be trusted 100%. They currently have Cam Wimbish listed as a C but in IMO, he's going to be a P from the start. Like Lucas, he's got some juice from the bump already.
