East Carolina third baseman Alec Makarewicz just announced his commitment to NC State.

In 2023 Makarewicz hit .258 with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs and is regarded as a quality defensive third baseman.

He did, but two of that infield got drafted and one transferred. The only one returning , and I don't think he's a bad defensive first baseman, is moving to the outfield, so EA really didn't have a choice.

That's a nice outfield, but we could use another OF for depth purposes. One who covers a lot of ground and can hit decent. Unless they feel comfortable the Frosh can provide the depth.

He has also had a heck of a summer. Think I read he has won player of the week in his summer league like 3 times. I would imagine this is ECU baseballs version of 1 more year with Russell or 2 years with Glennon. Hopefully it works out for us like it did Wisconsin.
