It's not to the point of "the Lab", but BYoung has some similar processes and equipment. Several of our guys go there. It's about 20-mins south of campus.

Gino going to Arizona is good for him IMO. Most of their minor league teams are out west in offense friendly parks where he cant hit his way to the majors and Arizona is similar. Can figure out his position when he gets there

Yeah that was my point, this equipment isnt that expensive (I mean, you cant *actually* build one in your garage but any organization with a bit of money could get equipped similarly). There's a bunch of small satellite setups all over that are based off what Driveline did. If they're doing something special at Wake it's the personnel they have whether it's the doctor or the pitching coaches or a combo of both

Like here's a Japanese team with all that equipment in a bigger facility:

Every MLB team probably has a bunch of them at their complexes

One HS arm drafted in the first round I think?

HS pitchers turning into RB's in NFL in the eyes of GM's. Must be a lot of new data that backs up HS arms being more of a risk, which makes sense.

Landen Maroudis is a high school RHP. He's going to need to add velocity to his low 90s fastball but his changeup sticks out as a plus pitch. He needs a new spin pitch most likely. Not a bad strike thrower. He's committed to NC State and might not be the easiest sign

Jays are selecting Landen Maroudis in the 4th round. Ross Atkins continues to go after guys I like a lot. He's a high school pitcher who is AGAIN very good value here. To be determined if we can sign him

If my math is right their pool is only $6.5m which is real small and think they may have to go over slot with Nimmala in round one. I think Maroudis will get less than what you mentioned, but we'll see

They'll probably save some funds with that Oklahoma St pitcher they took ahead of him, but I wonder if that HS SS they took in the 1st round will eat up any bonus money saved.

Either way I'd imagine Toronto already communicated an offer or they wouldn't have take him.

You guys could be right but last year HS pitchers selected in the 4th round signed for a high of 3.7 and a low of 1 mil on the nose. 2021 HS pitchers in the 4th round signed for a high of 1.5 and a low of 497.5K. The low was a kid from Puerto Rico and they usually sign and for less money.

If Landen signs for anything less than 1 mil his advisors and parents failed him tremendously, especially since he's considered a tough sign, apparently. I'd also love for him to be only the 2nd HS kid to not sign and end up in school.

The bold are my thoughts as well

Watts-Brown redshirted as a true FR so I guess he can try to leverage more money but he was injured with an arm injury so that hurts a lil bit I'd wager.

The rest of the college dudes could/should all probably sign below slot to this point.

I don't think Nimmala will sign over slot but I'm used to being wrong about stuff all the time.

Huge win.

The balance between wanting to recruit at the highest level but also not too high as to lose a chunk of the class must be real tough. I imagine basketball will be *similar* when HS kids can jump up again.

Toronto has taken only two HS kids so far and the rest college below slot types. It seems they do have a plan.
