NC State started their ACC Tournament pool play with a thrilling 8-7 win in 11 innings over Duke.

Baseball is a funny game, but a simple game. When you hit with runners in scoring position, you’re going to score a lot of runs, regardless of what else you do. The Pack hit 4 for 13 with runners in scoring position so they scored eight runs, despite going 6 innings without a hit.

Amazing how differently two people on the same website can frame the same event.

Defense has actually been decent to good this season. Don't know where we are at with fielding percentage, butts it's been .975+, which is good not great. Our problem has been errors at inopportune times, which comes from youth, and the pressure of knowing what's on the line. I don't think Fritton is running out of gas, there's been no velocity drop. He's just facing good teams in high leverage situations, and teams know he's pretty much just throwing fastballs.

We should be in the NCAA tournament, and you and every other NC State witter should be shouting that from the roof tops to push the narrative. We had the resume of a tournament team before the ACC tournament started. You can't penalize teams for losing weekend series when they've played three of those series against potential top 8 seeds.

I've been talking about how I think State very well could be in since they swept Pitt and been vouching for them to be in all week. I just don't think the ACCT matters to the committee so I don't think this win moved the needle. The RPI movement does matter though

Ehh. You said after UNC that we wouldn't be in regardless of what happened against Pitt. After Pitt you said a case could be made, but you still didn't have us in the field. If you've said we should be in since then, I apologize because I haven't seen it. All I'm asking is to just try and be a little more positive, it can't hurt.

so does it matter or not? b/c conference tournaments and RPI movement is a direct correlation.

Where your RPI is on selection Monday matters and conf tournament impacts that. Historically, the quality wins you pick up during the week have not mattered
