The NC State baseball team concludes its homestand on Tuesday afternoon against North Carolina A&T. Tuesday's first pitch has been moved up four hours to 2 p.m.

Tuesday's game will still be broadcasted live on ACC Network Extra. A free audio stream will be available on the Varsity Network App with Tony Haynes on the call. The game will also be available on WKNC 88.1

NC State (28-14) is 24-0 all-time against North Carolina A&T (17-23).

NC State enters this week's matchup against the Aggies with a 24-0 record against North Carolina A&T. More notes from the series against A&T are listed below:

While the Pack is undefeated in 24 prior matchups against the Aggies, three of the past five games have been decided by two runs or fewer. NC State posted two-run victories in 2022 and 2018 and earned a one-run victory (8-7) over A&T in its final game of the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season.
NC State jumped out to a 5-0 lead in its 5-3 victory over the Aggies on March 22, 2022. LuJames Groover III and Josh Hood hit homers in the midweek win. Garrett Payne and Canaan Silver combined to pitch all nine innings, allowing just six hits in the two-run victory.

SCOUTING NC A&T
North Carolina A&T (17-23, 9-13 CAA) dropped all four of its games last week following a home sweep of William & Mary from April 21-23 in Greensboro. The Aggies have averaged just 1.75 runs per game during its current four-game skid. Offensively, Tre Williams leads the Aggies in total bases (61), slugging percentage (.508), RBI (23) and home runs (four). On the mound, NC A&T has posted a staff ERA of 6.16, striking out a total of 315 opposing batters while issuing 166 walks on the season.

shaky start for kelly, but settling down nicely. mixed bag with him, which has been the case most of the year.

our pitching depth is awful. so much hard contact against a MEAC team.

to not get a single impact guy from the portal is roster malpractice in 2023.

Regardless of that HR or how this one goes, Kelly is in the category of arms that I think you can count on for solid innings going forward. As the broadcast was discussing, he's been very solid for the latter half of the season.

First, agreed. We are a couple arms short right now. However, IMO, it was going to be a tough sell coming into this year. most kids dont want to earn innings and we had Willadsen, Highfill, Whitaker all back. Not to include other arms that threw a lot last year in Baker, Carson Kelly, Payne, and Lawson. That, on paper, is a lot of depth to compete with.

Also, Rio Britton was supposed to be an impact kid, and has looked better recently. Watkins was very high risk/high reward, and Labriola was a kid who never contributed at a meh ACC program in 3 years, not sure why the coaches thought he could here.
