I am thinking the same thing. Why they keep putting him out there is a mystery to me, but I have seen enough to reach the same conclusion. Right now, having Green play SS seems like a really bad experiment.

I would leave Gino at 3rd. He seems to have settled in nicely. Move Kalae to SS and either sit Green or move him to second, where he is least likely to do any more damage this season.

Stats are interesting, but I am trusting my eyes on this one and my eyes say Green is not a SS. All you have to do is think one weekend back to the third game against Louisville and how badly he muffed a ball hit to him that lead to runs - just like today.

What does your eyes tell you Rob? How many runs has Payton given up after committing an error and just standing there either looking at the ball or lazily trying to pick the ball up as dudes run around the bases. How many routine plays has Payton butchered? I'm as forgiving as they come on these boards and rarely do I take any player to task but sometimes a kid isn't being put in a position to be successful or they're just not there mentally in certain situations.

Hard to take fielding % too seriously considering the play today was inexplicably ruled a hit, not an error.

My eyes were reading the stat sheet, so it told me that Groover and Green had the same number of errors going into the game with Green having 15 more putout attempts.

Green played shortstop in high school and was one of the best in the state. If you take him out, where do you put him? He leads the team in homers, so do you put him at DH? That guy has a three-run homer today.

He needs to play better in the field, but I don't think he plays 'lazily' or whatever.

How many routine plays has Payton butchered?

He has been charged with six errors this season, so my answer is six.

You should probably pay more attention to the game instead of being on IPS at the game big fella. You're missing at ton of stuff. Like Payton Green booting an easy ground ball that was an error but ruled a hit. LOL
