It would be nice to play some bigger names in early season out of conference, but we didn't play complete duds. Our RPI was 1 going into this weekend with our opponents RPI being fairly high as well. The offense tonight was concerning, but defense should show up regardless of opponent talent and it hasn't this weekend.

We also still have to host UNCG (RPI 47) and have a home and home with ECU (RPI 37).

Our non conference RPI is 5 and non conference SOS is 78. That's higher than multiple top 25 teams.

Ya'll can look up the rest but we've got some TOUGH games coming up. I'm fine playing an easyish schedule but that's just me.

If we can get a healthy Sam back in the weekend rotation I'd feel much better moving forward.

The team we saw today is who we saw all year so far. Not sure who the team was the first two games of the series. The first two games they obviously made errors and mistakes but weren't aggressive offensively.

Really other than than one bad inning on Friday night we outplayed them in game 1. We just dug too deep of a hole in that 2nd inning. Saturday was abysmal but pitching and hitting returned to form today. Could have just as easily won the series and I'm still optimistic about this team. Still not sold on our team defense though and pitching depth is always a question until it isn't.
