NC State will open ACC play at Miami this weekend. This weekend's three-game series at Alex Rodriguez Park in Coral Gables, Florida, begins Friday at 7 p.m. Friday's broadcast will be on ACC Network, while Saturday and Sunday's games will be on ACC Network Extra.

First 13 games have been great but I'm excited to learn a little bit more about our team this weekend.

No. 19 NC State opens ACC play this weekend with a three-game series at Miami. This weekend's series will run Friday through Sunday with first pitch times scheduled for 7 p.m., 6 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.

Friday's series opener at Alex Rodriguez Park will be broadcasted on ACC Network. Saturday and Sunday's games will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra. A free audio stream will be available on the Varsity Network App for all three games with Andrew Sanders on the call. All three games will also be available on the radio on WKNC 88.1.

NC State (13-0) holds a 21-37 record against the Hurricanes (8-5). The Pack, however, has won three of the past five in the series and swept Miami in a three-game series in Coral Gables, Florida, back in March 2019

SCOUTING MIAMI
Miami (8-5) opened its season with a home series victory against Penn State, winning the final two games of the series before reeling off five straight wins in week two with wins over Stetson, Indiana State and Dartmouth (three-game sweep). Miami has dropped four of its last five, recently falling 6-3 to Jacksonville during the midweek. The Hurricanes received 10 first-place votes in the Coastal Division in the ACC's Preseason Poll. Youhandy Morales leads the Hurricanes with a .458 batting average, 40 total bases and 22 hits.

Whitaker is throwing BP up there. Guess that's what happens when you play a real team and not a group of glorified HS teams we've been playing.

I've thought Whitaker had been hit hard at times this year but they were just right at people.

He has to keep his off speed stuff down more.

He's got to keep everything down more. Leaving 88-90 up when it's straight as an arrow is bad for business as we just saw. Miami is full of dudes that see fastball, hit fastball. If that change ain't on, he's gotta hit his spots.

The problem with Whittaker is that his motion is so mechanical and over the top. Batters see the ball perfectly coming out of his hand.

Ain't that the truth. and he just hung one with two strikes for a base hit even though it was a nice lil piece of hitting too.

Whitaker goes 2 2/3

Was talking with my LSU buddy the other day and he was asking how I thought we'd be and told him "I think we will hit but no idea about pitching."

Whitaker seems to basically be the Friday night ace after being forced in the role last year and staff rewarding him for it.
