NC State returns home Tuesday to host East Carolina in the second matchup of the season between the squads. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. There will additionally be an audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the Varsity Network App.

Not a great weather outlook for this one. Would we reschedule to Wed since it's a local team?

I don't recall us moving days much if ever on mid week games. I believe there was even a bunch of back and forth one year because we had to cancel a game against ECU and wouldn't reschedule it, but I may be misremembering that. At this time of year, I'm not sure that we even would want to play on a Wednesday for fear it might affect pitching for the weekend, but I'm just guessing.

I had wondered the same. Only thing I could see is we play Radford this weekend instead of an ACC series. May help if need be?

NC State baseball (25-13) will open up a seven-game home stand Tuesday when it welcomes East Carolina (24-17) to Doak Field at Dail Park for the second meeting of the season between the squads.

SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday will be the 111th meeting between NC State and East Carolina, as the Pack leads the all-time series, 69-41. The teams last met earlier this year on March 29 in Greenville, N.C., and the Pack shut out the Pirates, 2-0.

The last time the teams met in Raleigh was on April 25, 2016, and NC State earned a 6-1 victory.

NC State has won each of the last six matchups that have been played at Doak Field at Dail Park, dating back to 2011.

I would assume this is a staff day for both teams who are trying to string it together on the mound with their respective All-American arms on the shelf for much different reasons.

Radford is absolutely putrid so I hope we see 3 innings of Chris V if we have a lead. Best case would be Garrett gets back on track to give you 4-5, then Kelly/Nelson bridge for a couple to the 7th. I assume EA/CC have given up on Harrison after his last 3 outings, but would really like to try to see if he can find it again if not tonight then this weekend.

ECU's pitcher who shut us down out of the pen last month in our 2-0 win has moved to the weekend rotation. Carter Spivey. They should be gettable.

Lol, ok, all that time discussing whether Dom was safe and no mention we actually scored as a result or even that Soles went home as well.

Very strange, especially since these particular ACCN commentators seem to be relatively bright.

In fairness, both these announcers are sitting in their houses, so they didn't see him score. Though I would think someone on their crew would've said something about it at some point.
