NC State returns home Tuesday for a midweek contest with UNCW for the first of two meetings between the squads this year. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park, and the game will be broadcast on ACCNX. There will additionally be an audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the Varsity Network App.

Payne had 19 pitches after the first inning. After four innings he has 37. Been very efficient the last three innings. 2-2 going to the bottom of the fourth.

Boy if I am a Wolfpack hitter, I am glad that guy is out. He can throw it. Sanders said he has clocked triple digits. Only thing, he has no idea where it's going. Hard to get settled in the batters box with him throwing it everywhere.

Hood pops up to shallow center for the 2nd out. Jarrett has two strikes then a wild pitch and the catchers flips to the pitcher to get Devonte Brown out at the plate. They are reviewing it but I think he was out. Good play by the catcher and the pitcher.

I think he was probably out, but I really wish we had some better cameras setup for replays. Seems we are always missing the best angle. Tough break, don't blame him for trying to score there.

Shoot MLB has camera everywhere and although I don't watch, they have trouble getting it right. The ACC umps are the worst. We have been screwed as you know many times on the reviews.wilmwolf80 said:

Whichever former player this is in the booth sounds like he's about to fall asleep.
Brett Kinneman. He's actually doing a really good job, this is only the second or third time he's done this, but he has good insights and timing. Enunciation and projection will improve with time. Ceincin was very similar when he started a few years back.

Yeah, JT just can't make that mistake down 4 runs. Unfortunately I don't see this years team making the postseason. They have a lot of talent but can't seem to get out of their own way. Hopefully not much turnover after this season and we add some quality pitching. I think will be a tough team to beat next year if so.

I assume we'll make the NCAA Tournament, but the things that have hurt this team so far this year will kill us in the regional - defense and situational hitting. The team is young so not out of the question we see improvement, and the team will get a big boost if/when Sam gets healthy.packman34 said:

Great comeback from the guys. Good base running tagging on the fly ball for Groover then although it wasn't deep, Hart had to send him. I think had Hood walked we probably try the suicide with JT, but did not have to.

I'm not necessarily talking about posts in this particular thread, but I wonder sometimes if every fan has the right constitution to follow baseball. I see people post stuff here or on Twitter in the second or third inning like the game is over, and baseball just isn't like that. There's no clock to run out, the other team has to get all 27 outs, and until they do, it's not over. It's nice to take the lead early and shut the other team down, but it's also nice to have a comeback every now and then.

I don't think the team stole anything. Great composure and they did what they had to do at the end of the game. That's baseball.
