$15M gets you no covered seating over the main stands and tailgate tents. The player enhancements must be off the chart because the fans sure are not getting much out of this IMHO

You obviously havent priced any construction lately.

Roughly half is for Player Development, roughly 25% for Facility work, and roughly the last 25% for the Terrace area.

Remember, this is 1 of 3 planned phases.
To the contrary - I am very familiar with many of the construction projects on campus and have been involved in the actual fundraising. I know $15M doesn't go far. I'm just disappointed we've waited this long for just this.

"This". With all due respect, sir, the quote that follows is from Gravis' post that you quoted.

Remember, this is 1 of 3 planned phases.

If my math is correct, then there are 2 more phases to follow that will complete the project. "This" seems to be a good start. I'm sure that in due time the remaining phases will be introduced to everyone. Hopefully that will calm some nerves....

So can someone clarify is the video of Phase 1 or all three phases?

Looks to be all 3 currently "proposed " phases. I use "proposed" bc I'm sure things will be removed or added depending on fundraising

I am sure that what is shown is at least $15 million, I was just wondering if that was considered the first phase. If the current seating cannot be expanded or covered is this a case of wasting good money into a project that cannot grow with demand?

I think Phase 1 is the player stuff, Phase 2 the field work, and Phase 3 the fan amenities

If completed somewhat like this rendering where would we rank in terms of ACC facilities?

Can we confirm that this is what it will look like after phase one rather than what we are looking at will be broken up into 3 phases?

If this is just phase one then I'm really excited. If this is what the ultimate goal looks like then I am a little underwhelmed as well. Especially with the tailgate tents and grills. Seems a little gimmicky, no? I will absolutely still be donating though.

I believe this is it. Compare this to earlier renderings.
Can someone please tell me what happened. These look like a stadium that can hold its own with other top teams. What's been proposed today leaves us in last place. The Locker room itself is worse and smaller than unc G. That's not good.

Agreed this is why everyone is underwhelmed. Expectations vs. 7 mos. only to get some tents and picnic tables.

How long ago were those pretty renderings released? The sporting world has completely changed. MLB stadiums are getting smaller…more concourse seating type areas…things change folks.

What was the budget for earlier renderings? What is the difference in materials and labor costs between when those renderings we're made and now (hint, it's astronomically higher). Is all of the land around the stadium the same as it was at the time of those renderings? We're those renderings realistically engineered to be supported by the existing structures, or were they just an artists fantasy? I can make renderings to make it look like Yankee stadium, that doesn't mean that's a reasonable expectation. Some of y'all would ***** about water in the desert.

I don't think fans drew those earlier drawings. When you expect more and better seating and get lawn chairs on grass terraces you are going to hear complaints. Like I said no reason it took this long, to put this out. The longer it took the higher the expectations.

We were better off doing nothing. If prices are high right now we should wait for them to come back down.

They should have just done the player development improvements and made a big deal about it as Phase I and then developed a strategy for stadium improvements.

Seems to me that if you write a big enough check, then you will be able to get everything you want and maybe then some. A lot of us are contributing to this project, granted, in various amounts but still giving.

If you don't want to give anything at all for what you have seen so far, then you have no right to complain about it. You've repeatedly made it clear you don't like it; don't give.

You have a choice, friend.

The program, the coach, and the players deserve this. Boo checked the box. As stated many times earlier, if you want more give more. $15M is a lot. I personally think that's good for baseball. I wouldn't over spend here though. If I was going to over spend it would be in the football program and CF stadium.

Have we now met the required minimum number of seats to host a super regional?!

I love what they are doing, but I do temper expectations as this is a rendering which rarely turns out to be close to the finished project. Remember the drawings for Centennial Center??

My only wish is some sort of shade over the current seats. At least partially. We've all done it ourselves or heard from friends not attending a beautiful late spring game because it's too hot. I realize the structural portion for steel beams with metal overhangs is a gargantuan task. Let's hold of on that anyway because someday, maybe we need to build up. However, it doesn't take much to anchor down cables and add canvas or mesh awning / coverings that can provide SOME relief to the loyal fans behind the plate. Just my $.02

Any of us that bought season tickets have donated at least $100/ticket. My $500 should buy two of those tailgate tents. They are $249 at the red and white store.

Those are pretty sweet, but IIRC the university would not allow us to build that giant facility out in left field because it would have cut into Lee Field which is apparently a non-starter.

IMO the design team did a pretty great job when you consider the constraints we have not only financially but in terms of actual space to expand The Doak.

YES! These are impressive renderings and would provide us facilities that would rival any program in the country. The fact that they cannot build the large facility out in left field doesn't mean the rest of the stadium wouldn't be enhanced like this. I'm sure what has been proposed is an improvement over the old Doak, but it still leaves us far behind other programs. And don't ask me to write a bigger check...I don't have $20M or I would. But I know we need a stronger and bigger vision than we have been presented!

"The new field is priced at $3M alone"

Not entirely correct if you are talking about the field replacement & foul territory, the largest expense in Phase 1 is the new fully digital scoreboard at $1,750,000.

" My $500 should buy two of those tailgate tents. They are $249 at the red and white store."

I'm sure they will take your $500 for 2 of the tents. BTW.....The fan enhancement area is much more than the tents. Also, tthe entire terrace area upgrade constitutes a little over 2% of the total project cost.

Folks need to watch the interview with Boo and Elliot if they haven't already. It explains what they are doing and why.

"We're a developmental program. That's what we've always been about. We're going to build a facility that the players can come in here and continue to train and develop, because that's our reputation."

The impetus for these improvements is the player experience.

That looks like a seventy-five million dollar Stadium renovation to me. With our parsimonious fanbase, that ain't happening.
