Move the Rays to Raleigh

ETA: All of the yankee transplants in the area are probably all Sox and Yankees fans anyway so they'd love to see their teams!

This seems like a bluff to get a new stadium in Tampa to me.

I don't understand the desire to move a team to a city that couldn't outdraw San Juan, PR.

Nope.

Two (2) new stadiums. A much smaller one in Tampa Bay.

That is actually what would make it work. The French Canadians hate the English Canadians. Instant rivalry for 19 games a season and I'd bet every single one of those would get played in Canada.

Dumbest **** I've ever heard of. Only a matter of time before the MLB leaves Tampa altogether.

Some city is going to get one helluva organization. They've been extremely competitive for years on a shoestring budget with no fam support.

I'm not sure about now, but in 2001 the Expos averaged just over half (only 8k per game)of what the Rays typically have in attendance. Bad stadium or not that's a pathetic number.
