It's not that odd, to be honest (IMO). Because it's baseball, decommits don't get the attention like in basketball or football.

Remains to be seen if these are Tegan Kuhns situations or more Gabe Simmons situations.

Alot of folks in baseball committed when they were in 9th grade before recruiting rule changes. Then they couldn't talk with coaches until August of junior year. Alot changes over 2 years with no real communication between player and coaches. So, not all, but some of this stuff is the result of things change over a couple of years on both sides - players and team needs.

Have heard Armstrong has been working out with the baseball team to try and become a lefty Pitcher. Heard he was sitting 88-91 fastball and was refining different breaking pitches.

Edit to add: I don't believe this is to be a part of the State baseball team.

I think we should all expect smaller class sizes moving forward with the portal. Might be one of the things that helps the smaller schools out with the roster expansion.

Was talking to a guy who is on ECU board of directors other day and he said there is no way they will be able to fund anywhere close to 30 scholarships for baseball.
