Yeah agree. It is only a matter of time before the SEC starts to pull away from the ACC with baseball. They have the money to do so and they have the will to do so.

I have said this for awhile - would love to see us up our committment significantly to baseball. There is nothing preventing us from being a baseball power. We have been solid but everything is in place but the real financial commitment to take it to a different level.

Interesting that Fraasman is listed as C/UTL there. Another guy with 17 SB's this year.
I spot checked about 12-15 game boxscores and he played exclusively RF although I did see one game he played CF in. 23 SBs in two years seems to prove he can run a lil bit.

I would almost bank on Butters for sure being gone, kind of makes me think Dom is as well but who knows.

SEC has already won the last five.

The ACC is fine, just haven't been able to get it done. The west coast teams will bounce back at some point as well. Too much talent out there and not every kid wants to leave Cali for the Southeast.

Not surprised about Chase. I know he walked once but he didn't have good at bats when given an opportunity in the postseason. He wasn't seeing the ball well and I just had no confidence in him when he was at the plate. He also seems to complain to the umpire every time he struck out. That goes back to last year.

Chase is one of my favorite guys to wear the red and white because he brought it every single time he was on the field. He played hard and put the ball in play an awful lot. A glue guy.

I'm not surprised to see him in the portal, I'd imagine he ends up at UNCW. But from walk on to the number of AB's he had in the ACC - you don't get there without some grit.

Not all walk-on's in baseball are created equal. There are many "walk-ons" that are that way b/c their parents can afford to pay for school and not use up any or very much of the 11.7 scholarships that baseball gets to use for 32 (or is it 27? I can't remember) players.

It is true Chase's parents are fortunate enough to be able to afford his college tuition but if I remember correctly - he took an extra year at Pro5 to prove he could play D1. He was not a big time recruit by any means - grinded for the chance he got.

He lost his SR year to Covid.

If you believe what he told Brett Friedlander he had offers from Clemson, Ga Tech and UNCW while at Pro5.

I believe everything you said is true but he was not (IMO) a conventional walk-on. If baseball could give out 27 'ships Chase would've had one back then, IMO.
