Davin Vann: "It's Really Up To Us"

NC State defensive lineman Davin Vann has created a lot of buzz during fall camp, and recently he met with the media to discuss his improvements, the upcoming season, and much more.

“I think the biggest thing that's helped me stand out this fall camp was just really the D-line, like my D line as a whole. We came in almost every day all summer, just working hands, working pass rush, working a lot on our fundamentals and working hard in the weight room too. So I think that's the biggest thing that helped me stand out.”

“I've learned a lot. I'd say the person I've learned the most from is probably Cory Durden. He's just a very experienced football player. He knows what he's talking about in the film room. I try to just take the most out I can from him.”

“It's always fun. Some of the guys I got to watch grow over the summer because we were all working in the indoor, but I've seen a lot of progression with their hands. They've gotten a lot better hands, movement, feet, all. I think they're going to be real good this year, our o-line.”

“I've had a lot of growth as a person and as a football player.”

“Well, as a person coming in, I was real immature emotionally. I feel like I've grown a lot that way. And as a football player coming in as an 18 year old, you think you know everything, and I'm starting to realize a lot more that I don't know anything.”

“It's great. It's great having your little brother here, watching him grow too. We played in high school and I honestly didn't think he was going to play with me in college. I didn't think he wanted to play with me in college, but it was kind of cool just having him around, being able to hang out with him every day.”

“I try not to worry about it, try not to worry about what other people think. It's just kind of my guys, as long as they're happy and I'm making them proud then that's all that matters for real.”
