Cory Durden Named To Outland Trophy Watch List

Wolfpack defensive lineman Cory Durden has been selected to the 2022 Outland Trophy Watch List. The Football Writers Association of America has announced the preseason watch list for the 2022 Outland Trophy, recognizing 89 returning standout interior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences and independents.
 
In his first season at NC State last year, Durden was named a first-team All-ACC performer on the official league team and on the AP squad. He also earned the team's Carey Brewbaker Award for Top Defensive Lineman. He was the Pack's starter in the last seven games of the season at defensive tackle, with a top game against Clemson - tallied six tackles, 1.5 sacks and had a QB pressure in that contest.
 
The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Thurs., Dec. 8. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 11, 2023.
